Closing Day
As we head into spring, the final day of operations for the 2024/25 winter ski and ride season will be Saturday, April 12.
Save the Snow Days
Waterville Valley Resort will be closed on Monday and Tuesday, April 7 & 8, to preserve the mountain leading up to closing day. Alpine ski and ride operations will continue Wednesday, April 9.
Employee Ski Day
On Sunday, April 13, the resort will be closed to the public. All resort employees are invited to join us on Sunday the 13th for an employee-only ski day. This celebration is a small token of appreciation for all the hard work our wonderful employees put in throughout the season!
Speaker Series: Human History in the White Mountains
The Friday Speaker Series guest will be Plymouth Area Renewable Energy Initiative (PAREI) in conjunction with NH Saves. They will present their Button Up workshop to help folks improve the energy efficiency of their homes.

Henderson Après Ski Party PRE Henderson Invitational!
Waterville Valley Academy is hosting an Après Ski Party on Friday, April 4, from 4-7 p.m., at the Competition Center, Waterville Valley Ski Resort. All are welcome to celebrate the final days of the season with US Ski Team members Hunter Henderson and X Games Silver Medalist Grace Henderson. Enter a raffle to win exclusive US Ski Team gear and other prizes. Food and live music by Jack Fox. Tickets are $125 per person and proceeds will benefit the WVA Freeski Program.
Henderson Invitational
Join freeskier Hunter Henderson right here in Waterville Valley on Saturday, April 5, for an epic spring skiing event celebrating community, talent and freeskiing’s legacy. The Henderson Invitational will spotlight the best Northeast skiers, bringing people together to honor Waterville Valley’s legacy as the birthplace of freeskiing, and nurturing the next generation of talent. You’ll be able to catch all the action from the base of High Country from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This event is sponsored by Red Bull and Waterville Valley Resort Association.
Last Run Luau Pond Skimming
It’s back … and in a new location at 3,600 ft elevation … the highest pond in the Northeast! On Saturday, April 5, register at the Schwendi Hutte from 2-3 p.m. Pond skimming is free with a valid lift ticket or season pass. Registration will be capped at 75 competitors. Participants will load the High Country T-bar and begin their descent into the pond at 3 p.m. Spectator “Beach Bums” are welcome to watch. Spectators that won’t be skiing/snowboarding can ride the lift up and down for free. Stop by the ticket office in the base lodge to pick up a foot passenger ticket.
Schwendi Hutte Barbecue
Schwendi will be roasting up dogs and burgers on the deck from 2-5 p.m. on Saturday, April 5. Stop by before and after the Henderson Invitational and pond skim for a bite to eat.
Spring Hours
We are moving into mud season and it’s time for some businesses to adjust their hours and/or close for a spring break. Refer to the weekly business hours report AND the spring business hours report that was recently sent to you.
NOTE: The Welcome Center will close at 12 noon on Sunday, April 13, so staff can enjoy the employee ski day.
Plant Based Charcuterie
HURRY – Space is filling fast! Wendy Hills, the founding force behind Roots & Roses, will lead a 90-minute interactive class in the art of creating stunning, delicious plant-based charcuterie boards. Food creation and sampling are included in this workshop on Friday, April 18, from 6-8 p.m. The cost is $95 per person, $85 for WVRD members. You’ll take home a handcrafted bamboo board, three ceramic serving bowls, a cheese spreading knife, recipe booklet, resource guide, all ingredients, including nuts, crackers, fruits and veggies, and 7+ featured recipes. Easter Egg Hunt
Mark your calendar for the best Easter Egg Hunt around … Saturday, April 19, at Packard Field. The hunt starts promptly at 9:30 a.m. for kids ages 5 & under, and at 10 a.m. for kids ages 6-10. This is a rain or shine event (will move indoors to the Recreation Department if inclement weather is forecasted). There will be eggs galore, golden eggs and prizes. $15/child; $5/child member. Kindergarten Registration
Waterville Valley Elementary School kindergarten registration is now open to children who will be 5 years old by Sept. 30, 2025. WVES’s kindergarten program is designed to ignite curiosity, foster creativity and lay the foundation for lifelong learning. You do NOT have to be a resident of Waterville Valley to enroll your child in WVES! Out-of-Waterville Valley tuition costs are very reasonable. Contact ssidor@pemibaker.org or call 603-236-4700.

Wilderness First Aid Course
The Recreation Department will host a 2-day Wilderness First Aid course for outdoor enthusiasts on Saturday and Sunday, May 18 & 19, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. The course will be taught by Solo Wilderness Medicine, the gold standard for backcountry emergency care training. $245, $215 for WVRD members. Pre-registration is required by calling 603-236-4695.
