DENALI HIKING CHALLENGE

Within the mountains that surround Waterville Valley exist a number of New England's highest peaks. The Denali Challenge is to hike five of these peaks in one weekend. The ultimate challenge is to hike the five peaks equaling 20,000 feet (Denali is at 20,328') claiming the title "Alive after five". This year, hikers will be able to choose from a number of different peaks for the five mountains they will climb. Participation in the weekend is free and everyone is welcome. Whether you're an experienced hiker looking to master all five peaks, or just looking to join the fun, there is something to fit all abilities and ages. To pre-register e-mail marketing@waterville.com

Hike any five of the following peaks to achieve 20,000’

We do encourage a warm up hike on Friday to one of the many scenic outlooks in Waterville Valley. Check-in will take place from 6-8pm on Friday August 8th at the Info Booth located in Town Square where participants will receive their map, hiker card and t-shirt (limited quantities) for those who preregistered.

If you can’t make it to check-in hiker cards will be e-mailed to you this year. The hashtags #denalichallenge and #aliveafter5 can be used on social media to confirm hikes are completed throughout the weekend.

$17 Lift TIckets on St. Patrick’s Day!

$17 Lift TIckets on St. Patrick’s Day!

$17 LIFT TICKETS
MARCH 17TH, 2025

We’re bringing back $17 lift tickets on St. Patrick’s Day! But there’s a wee catch…

You must dress as a leprechaun. No costume, no deal. We’re not handing out pots of gold to just anyone.

Tickets must be purchased in person at the Ticket Office in the Base Lodge on March 17th.

To unlock your $17 lift ticket, you must meet ALL THREE of these extremely serious, non-negotiable leprechaun requirements:

✅ Wear something green (no, a tiny shamrock sticker does not count. You need loud, undeniable, unmistakable GREEN—shirt, jacket, pants, a full-body turf suit, whatever.)

✅ Add a leprechaun-y touch (a jaunty top hat, a fake fiery beard, gold coins spilling dramatically from your pockets, shoes that suggest you might make a side hustle crafting wooden clogs in the forest... get into character !)

✅ Bring a hint of mischief (speak exclusively in riddles, do a jig in your ski boots, give cryptic directions to non-existent treasure, or simply give a knowing wink that suggests you’re up to something)

No half-hearted attempts. No “but my gloves have a green stripe.” No “I’m wearing green underwear, I swear.” All three elements must be met. No exceptions.

Ski all day, then revel in après chaos. Guinness in hand, spinning tales of your mountain mischief, and making questionable decisions you’ll laugh about later.

One day only—March 17th, 2025. Get weird, get green, and get after it!

DATE: Monday, March 17th, 2025

TIME: 9:00am - 4:00pm

LOCATION: Waterville Valley Ski Resort - Tickets must be purchased in person at the Base Lodge!

2025 World Telemark Day

2025 WORLD TELEMARK DAY

SATURDAY, MARCH 1ST | 10:00AM

TELEMARK RUN AT WATERVILLE VALLEY RESORT

Meet up at 10AM at the Tecumseh Express near the Waterville Valley Resort Base Area, and take a top to bottom run down Hollywood with your fellow telemark skiers!

WANT TO PARTICIPATE EVEN MORE?

  1. Go Telemark skiing! You can make it a day at the resort or a day in the backcountry — you choose.

  2. Connect with people on social media using the hashtags #WorldTelemarkDay & #SpreadTelemark - this is a great way to share where you are making the best turn on snow with participants worldwide.

  3. Set-up a group meetup at the hill for your local Telemark community to ski together for a few runs and take a group photo.

  4. Rolling solo? No problem. World Telemark Day is still for you. Connect with other Telemark skiers via social media that are celebrating the same thing on the same day.

  5. Use the high resolution WTD logo to make your own digital flyers, merch, etc.

For Telemark skiers from around the world the 1st Saturday in March is a special day, it’s always World Telemark Day (WTD). This international celebration takes place this 2024-25 winter season on Saturday March 1st, 2025 and marks the 11th year since its inception. “There is nothing more exciting for Telemark skiers than to get together and share the turn,” said WTD Founder Josh Madsen. “So I created a de-centralized event for everyone around the world, every year, that both the individual and groups can celebrate at the same time.”

That’s what sets World Telemark Day apart from a normal organized event at a specic location, because it can happen any place you want! Whether you are the only Telemark skier at your local ski area or live in an area where you can meet-up with a group of other like-minded freeheelers WTD is for everyone.
